 Academic Exhibition of Zhong Zhengchuan’s Chinese Ink and Wash Paintings Held at Ta Kung Pao, Hong Kong

Recently, an academic exhibition of Zhong Zhengchuan’s Chinese ink and wash paintings hosted by HongKong Takung Assets and Equity of Artworks Exchange Co. Ltd., Malaysia Chinese Ink and Wash Paintings Association, Zheng He Duo Yun Xuan Art Gallery, co-hosted by Hong Kong Ta Kung Wenwei Public Relations Group and organized by Tianjin Ying Shi Li Network Technology Co., Ltd. and Art Union International Limited was held at Ta Kung Pao, Hong Kong.

 

 

 

    Mr. Zhong Zhengchuan, general chairman of Malaysia Chinese Ink and Wash Paintings Association and the famous artist of Chinese ink and wash paintings, was invited to bring his paintings to Hong Kong for this academic exhibition, offering an extraordinary feast of Chinese ink and wash paintings to the enthusiasts of traditional Chinese art. Guests including the deputy general manager of Hong Kong Takung Wenwei Media Group Sheng Yiping, general manager of HongKong Takung Assets and Equity of Artworks Exchange Co. Ltd. Xiao Di, deputy director of Zheng He Duo Yun Xuan Art Gallery Li Shi Lei, member of the 10th and 11th CPPCC National Committee and chairman of Hong Kong Federation of Journalists Cheung Kwok Leung, member of CPPCC National Committee and chairman & CEO of Starlight Group Limited Lam Kwong Yu, Member of the CPPCC Standing Committee of Guangdong Province and chairman of Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce China Committee Yu Pengchun, chairman of Hong Kong Artists' Federation and director of Hong Kong Cultural and Art Exchange Association Wang Qiutong, former president of Asia-Pacific Branch, Xinhua News Agency and president of the Hong Kong branch of Xinhua Painting and Calligraphy Xue Yongxing etc. attended and hosted the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Many celebrities from all walks of life in Hong Kong gathered in the exhibition to discuss the cultural exchange of China and Malaysia and the development of Chinese ink and wash painting.

 

 

 

    At the opening ceremony, the deputy general manager of Hong Kong Takung Wenwei Media Group Sheng Yiping congratulated the successful opening of the academic exhibition, and introduced Mr. Zhong’s academic achievements in ink and wash paintings and social achievements, and praised Mr. Zhong for his Chinese ink and wash painting style which combines both Chinese and Southeast Asian cultures and inherits the essence of famous experts with his own characteristics. The Special Envoy to China of Malacca State Government, Malaysia sent a special congratulatory letter to this academic exhibition, and the deputy director of Zheng He Duo Yun Xuan Art Gallery Li Shi Lei read the congratulatory letter, and talked about Malaysia’s Chinese ink and wash painting culture and the importance of cultural exchange between the two countries. The guests all praised HongKong Takung Assets and Equity of Artworks Exchange Co. Ltd. for its introduction of the academic exhibition of Zhong Zhengchuan’s Chinese ink and wash paintings in response to the cultural exchange between China and Malaysia and with the aim to promote cultural communications along the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road”. Mr. Zhong Zhengchuan wrote an inscription “唯大唯公” (pursuing for strength and justice) at the scene.

 

 

 

    Totally 20 Chinese ink and wash paintings were exhibited, which were mainly themed with Southeast Asian landscape, free life and greatness of maternal love. Mr. Zhong’s ancestral home is in Meixian, Guangdong Province, he was born and brought up in Malaysia, therefore his paintings are rich in Southeast Asian feeling with traditional Chinese culture, allowing viewers to have visual enjoyment and inner resonance resulting from the interaction and combination of Chinese and Southeast Asian cultures. While appreciating the paintings, the guests could feel the beauty of landscape, the happiness of gardening, the homesickness of overseas Chinese, and the profound creativity of the famous painter.

 

 

    In the exhibition, the guests talked about Mr. Zhong Zhengchuan’s Chinese ink and wash paintings and his outstanding achievements in promoting and implementation of traditional Chinese culture. Mr. Zhong said that artistic creation is inseparable from the environment and the life, it is said that “ink with the times”, he is fortune to have a art career in which he could perfectly interpret the connections between Chinese ink and wash paintings and culture, and combine the ingredients with distinctive cultural characters. In the future, Southeast Asia’s Chinese ink and wash painting shall not only be developed through years of education, but shall be communicated via more and efficient methods. As such, he hoped that by deep cooperation with HongKong Takung Assets and Equity of Artworks Exchange Co. Ltd., more excellent Chinese ink and wash paintings could be introduced to the world, so as to allow more people to admire the traditional Chinese culture developed in Malaysia.

    The exhibition of Chinese ink and wash paintings from Malaysia was along with the trading of Mr. Zhong’s paintings at the Takung Unit platform of HongKong Takung Assets and Equity of Artworks Exchange Co. Ltd.. As the world’s first artwork electronic trading platform that landed in the international capital market, the artwork online trading platform of HongKong Takung Assets and Equity of Artworks Exchange Co. Ltd. was praised by all guests. During the exhibition, the Exchange also used VR technology to show the exhibited paintings to the whole world via the Internet. This reflected the changes of traditional art industry brought by technology.

 

 

 

    Mr. Zhong Zhengchuan is known as “Malaysia’s Qi Baishi”. He has been in the art field of Malaysia for more than 30 years. His Chinese ink and wash paintings are highly praised by the Chinese in the world. His paintings have vivid lines and grand layout, the nature and human essence are perfectly combined through the plants and trees, birds and flowers. His paintings have been collected by the Malaysia National Museum of Art, Malaysian National Guest House, Chinese Art Research Institute, Qi Baishi Memorial Hall, Zhang Daqian Memorial Hall, Korea Culture and Art Museum, National Education Museum of Taiwan, former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, former leader of North Korea General Kim Il Sung, Chairman of the Workers' Party of North Korea Kim Jong-il as well as other heads of state, dignitaries, ambassadors and national museums of fine art. Since November 2016 when the artwork of “The First Voyage” and some other artwork were successfully offered at HongKong Takung Assets and Equity of Artworks Exchange Co. Ltd., art enthusiasts from over ten countries and regions have participated in trading of the artwork.

    Chinese ink and wash painting is one of the traditional Chinese culture. Today, it is not only a unique culture category in China, but a gathering place of various cultures. The Chinese ink and wash paintings developed in Southeast Asia are shared by us today. The academic exhibition of Zhong Zhengchuan’s Chinese ink and wash paintings showed the prosperous development of Chinese ink and wash painting in Malaysia and its influence in the world. It is of importance to promote the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” by the way of culture and art and connect various countries by the bridge of art.
